Jonathan Dinesman is an experienced executive with more than ten years experience in state and federal relations from both corporate and government settings.  He joined Centene in September 2008 as Vice President of Business Development and State Affairs and was promoted to Vice President of Government Relations, overseeing the Washington D.C. government relations office in August 2009.

Mr. Dinesman started his professional career as the Banking and Insurance analyst at the Arizona House of Representatives.  In that capacity, Mr. Dinesman drafted and helped pass the most comprehensive health insurance reform package in the state’s history.  He was promoted to Senior Policy Director in 2000, advising the Speaker and Leadership on matters pertaining to business and economic development, taxation and health care matters.  In 2003, Mr. Dinesman joined UnitedHealthcare’s Arizona operation as Vice President of Government Affairs.  He moved to Washington D.C. in 2005 to become UnitedHealth Group’s National Vice President of Government Affairs, overseeing the government affairs team for their $4 billion Medicaid business segment.

Mr. Dinesman received a juris doctorate degree from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1998.  He obtained a bachelor’s degree in political science and psychology from the University of Arizona as well.  Mr. Dinesman lives in McLean, Virginia with his wife Karin and three children, ages eight, five and one.
