Cliff Robertson, M.D., is the chief executive officer (CEO) of CHI Health, which is Catholic Health Initiative’s (CHI) Nebraska/Southwest Iowa Division. He also serves as a Senior Vice President of Divisional Operations for CHI and sits on the CHI President’s Council. An experienced family practice physician and health system executive, Robertson also serves as a senior vice president of CHI’s Divisional Operations. He has more than 20 years of experience as a business leader in both healthcare and private business.

 

As CEO of CHI Health, Robertson leads the largest regional health system in Nebraska, which 14 hospitals, 136 clinic locations and 12,500 employees caring for more than one million patients a year. CHI Health is also home to the renowned Creighton University Medical Center. Together, CHI Health and Creighton University teach and train the physicians, nurses, pharmacists and therapists who will care for the next generation. Whether patients are in the Level 1 Trauma Center or being seen virtually, CHI Health is poised to lead the region into a new era of health care.  

 

Prior to joining CHI Health in 2014, Robertson served CHI in a dual role as interim CEO of St. Luke’s Health System in Houston and as chief operating officer (COO) of CHI Franciscan Health in Washington State, where he was responsible for daily operations and strategic direction of the seven-hospital system. Robertson earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his medical degree from Ohio State College of Medicine. He completed his residency and internship in family practice at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma. He later received his master’s in business administration from Pacific Lutheran University.

 

Dr. Robertson serves on various community and civic boards including The Geneva Foundation, Avizia Inc., CHI Health at Home, CHI’s Institute for Research and Innovation (CIRI) and the Omaha Chamber of Commerce. He is an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Medical Education at Creighton University School of Medicine.
